Classroom Management Plan

Our Promises (Rules):

  • Raise Your Hand

  • Be a Friend at all times

  • Walk, Don’t Run

  • Use your Listening ears

  • Help Clean Up

We will focus on the above promises during this school year.  If a child chooses to break one of the “promises”, the child will clip down on the behavior chart and lose a point on our “class dojo” system.  Points are kept track of on Classdojo.  A student always has the opportunity to make their day better by clipping up on our chart.  At the end of the day is when the class dojo points will be recorded.

By recess time, I will determine where everyone is at on the clip chart for the day.

Below is a break-down of the clip chart and what each level means.

Super Student- This level is reserved for outstanding behavior.  A student who reaches this level will earn 4 class dojo points, a letter home, and a chance to pick something out of the treasure chest.

Great Job- Students can move to the Great Job level for continuing to display good behavior.  The Great Job level will earn students 3 class dojo points.

Good Choices- Students will move to the Good Choices level for showing that they are making the right behavior decisions!  Students at this level will earn 2 class dojo points.

Ready to Learn- Every student will start the day on the Ready to Learn level.  As the day goes on, clips can be moved up and down based on behavior.  If a student ends the day on this level, they will earn 1 class dojo point.

Think About It- A student will move to the Think About It level as a warning about his/her behavior, and a reminder to follow our classroom expectations.  Students who end the day on this level will lose 1 class dojo point.

Teacher’s Choice- Students who continue to display poor behavior can move down to the Teacher’s Choice level.  Here, the teacher can decide what action to take.  Students who end the day on this level will lose 2 class dojo points.

Parent Contact- When a student moves to the Parent Contact level, the teacher will notify parents via phone call or e-mail.  Students will lose all of their recess, visit Mr. Schumacher, and will lose 3 class dojo points for the day at this level.

You will be able to log-in to classdojo.com with your own personal code every day to see how your child has done that day.  Codes will be going home at Parent Orientation night.

Rewards:

The children will also be rewarded for making good choices and keeping our classroom promises.  As a whole group, we will receive stars for our “star” chart.  When our chart is full, we will vote as a class on how they would like to celebrate.  We receive stars if our classdojo percentage is above 80% positive for the day.  Individually, students will be able to earn items out of the treasure chest by making good choices on their own and for going “above and beyond” in our classroom.  When they make good choices, they will also receive positive points on their classdojo and they will clip up on our behavior chart.

This plan is designed to help children learn to make positive choices and take responsibility for their behavior.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
